London Stansted Airport is 30 minutes south of Cambridge by rail or 40 minutes by car. Rapidly growing in importance as a hub for
London and the East of England, it is the UK’s third busiest airport and home of the leading low-cost airlines. Over 41
scheduled and charter airlines serve more than 160 destinations in 35 countries, plus two dedicated business class transatlantic
carriers. Stansted is set beside the M11 motorway with direct trains to and from London (45 minutes) and Cambridge (30 minutes).
The number of passengers handled by London Stansted airport is set to increase to 25 million with the planned expansion of scheduled flights and destinations. London Stansted is also one of the UK’s top cargo airports, where both FedEx and UPS have a substantial presence.
London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports are readily accessible via the A1, M11 and M25 motorways. All are connected by regular rail, coach and bus services. London City Airport is also easily accessible in the Docklands area of East London, close to the M11 motorway.
Cambridge is serviced by its own airport, which can handle private flights directly to and from the city http://www.cambridgecityairport.com/.
