Health Enterprise East
There is a high level of innovation in the NHS but the commercial potential of such developments and associated benefits to the NHS and its patients have not always been fully explored or realised. This can be for a variety of reasons, including lack of specialist commercial knowledge, training and professional advice.
Health Enterprise East (HEE) is the NHS innovation hub for the whole East of England region and is currently located in the Cardio-Thoracic BioIncubator at Papworth Hospital. It provides specialist intellectual property management services relating to the commercialisation of innovation and new ideas for all NHS Trusts in the region. It also acts a gateway for businesses to access clinical expertise and research services from any of the NHS Trusts operating within the East of England.
