Universities and Education

There are three world-class universities based in Greater Cambridge that all deliver higher education qualifications and academic research programmes and top class further education colleges throughout the area:

University of Cambridge
The University of Cambridge’s reputation for outstanding academic achievement is recognised worldwide. It has over 15,500 fulltime students.

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU)
ARU has some 24,000 students (of which over 65% are mature students). Its courses have a strong vocational emphasis.

Open University (OU)
The Open University is the largest provider of undergraduate part-time education in the East of England supporting over 16,000 students largely via distance learning.

Cambridge Regional College
CRC provides full and part-time courses to school leavers, adult learners and international students in academic and vocational courses, as well as university courses.

Huntingdonshire Regional College
HRC provides full and part time courses from access courses to professional qualifications, as well as being a member of the Regional University Partnership for easy access to university courses.
